Regarding the update in the surgical treatment of the voice feminization, we have worked mainly on two lines: the first in the change of the suture, the use of a non-resorbable nylon suture is currently being tested. It has the advantage that the closing of the vocal cords remains unchanged with the passage of time, therefore, it could be a good novelty. Technically it is more difficult to work with this type of suture.

Dr. Juan Carlos Casado has presented his new book titled VOICE FEMINIZATION: A MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACH TO TRANSGENDER WOMAN, of which he is coauthor with Dr. Enrique Maraví Aznar.
This book is the result of the scarcity of updated manuals that deal with the process of voice feminization in transgender women in an accessible and didactic way.
In many of them there is concern that their voice does not reflect the vocal tone they consider appropriate with respect to their external appearance, that is, that their voice does not sound stereotypically feminine.
